To get the most out of your candle, follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Trim the Wick. Before every single burn, trim the cotton wick to about 1/4 inch. This prevents smoking and ensures a cleaner, more even burn.

Step 2: The First Burn is Key. Allow the candle to burn for at least 2-3 hours the first time you light it, or until the melted wax pool reaches the edges of the glass. This prevents "tunneling" and ensures your candle burns evenly for its entire life.

Step 3: Burn Safely. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

Step 4: Know When to Stop. Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.

This is a fantastic candle for anyone who loves a fragrance that is warm, spicy, and a little bit sweet. How is this scent different from The Porter House candle?
They create very different moods. The Porter House is a fresh, green, and calming "floriental" scent, perfect for creating a tranquil, spa-like oasis. Miami Duppy is much warmer, spicier, and more energetic, with notes of tobacco and tonka, making it ideal for a more social or celebratory atmosphere.

Is the scent very strong?
This candle is designed to have a good "scent throw," meaning it will effectively fill a standard-sized room with fragrance. However, the scent itself is sophisticated and well-balanced, not a sharp or overwhelming perfume smell.

Why is coconut wax a good choice for a candle?
Coconut wax is a renewable, natural resource that is known for burning cleaner and slower than traditional paraffin wax, which is a petroleum byproduct. It also holds and throws fragrance exceptionally well, meaning you get a beautifully scented room without the soot.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
