It is generally not the first choice for highly sensitive skin or those brand new to active ingredients.

Retinol is a powerful ingredient. Start slow and use only at night.

For Beginners: Start by using it only 2-3 nights per week for the first couple of weeks to allow your skin to acclimate.

Step 1: In the evening, after cleansing your face, ensure your skin is completely dry.

Step 2: Dispense a pea-sized amount of the cream onto your fingertips. A little goes a long way.

Step 3: Gently apply the cream to your entire face, avoiding the delicate eye area and the corners of your mouth.

Step 4 (Crucial): The next morning, you must apply a sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

This product contains Retinol, which is a very potent active ingredient. It can cause dryness, redness, and some light peeling, especially during the first few weeks of use (this is often called "retinization"). This is a normal part of the process as your skin adjusts.

The 2nd's Recommendation: For external use only. Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing. Do not combine with other strong exfoliants like AHAs or BHAs in the same routine without consulting a professional.

Incorporating retinol into your routine is a marathon, not a sprint. The "start slow" advice is serious; using it every night from the beginning is the fastest way to get irritated skin. The most important rule of using retinol is to be diligent with sunscreen every single morning. Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, and you'll undo all its good work if you don't protect your skin during the day.

What exactly is Retinol?
Retinol is a form of Vitamin A. When applied to the skin, it converts to retinoic acid, which then signals your skin cells to behave like younger, healthier versions of themselves. This means speeding up cell turnover and boosting collagen production, which is what makes it so effective against wrinkles and for improving texture.

Will this make my skin peel?
It might, and that's often a normal part of the initial process. Some light dryness, redness, or peeling can occur for the first 2-4 weeks as your skin gets used to the increased cell turnover. This is why starting slow and using a good moisturizer is so important. If irritation is severe or persistent, stop using it.

Why can I only use this at night?
Two reasons. First, retinol makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, so applying it before you go outside is not a good idea. Second, sunlight can actually degrade the retinol molecule itself, making it less effective. Applying it at night ensures it can work properly and safely.
