Step 1: Wet your face thoroughly with warm water.

Step 2: Dispense a small amount of the cleanser into your wet hands.

Step 3: Apply to your face and gently massage in a circular motion for 30 to 60 seconds. Do not scrub aggressively.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Step 5: Limit use to two or three times a week, alternating with your standard daily cleanser.

The most common mistake men make with this type of product is treating their face like they are sanding a piece of wood. You must let the grit do the work for you. Apply very light pressure and use gentle, circular motions. Over-scrubbing will cause micro-tears and inflammation. Treat this as a specialized tool and use it two to three times a week to clear congestion, rather than every single day.

Can I use this exfoliating cleanser every day?
It is generally recommended to use a physical exfoliator two to three times a week. Using it every day can over-exfoliate the skin and compromise your moisture barrier.

Is this a chemical or physical exfoliator?
This is a physical exfoliator. It uses physical particles (Walnut Shell, Olive Seed, and Rice Bran) to manually buff away dead skin cells, rather than chemical acids to dissolve them.

Is the packaging actually compostable?
Yes. Like all Phil's products, the packaging is entirely plastic-free. It is engineered to break down completely in 52 weeks, whether placed in a home compost bin or standard trash.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
