Application method can be varied for different results.

Step 1: Start with a small, pea-sized scoop of clay. A little goes a long way.

Step 2: Emulsify the clay by rubbing it vigorously between your palms until it warms up and becomes smooth. This is the most important step for an even application.

Step 3 (For Maximum Hold/Matte Finish): Apply to clean, dry hair, working from the roots to the tips to build your style.

Step 4 (For a More Natural Finish): Apply to damp hair and let it air dry, or blow-dry it into place for extra volume.

This product is formulated with clean, minimal ingredients, but it does contain beeswax and lavender oil. If you have known sensitivities to these ingredients, please be cautious.

The 2nd's Recommendation: For external use only. A patch test is always a good idea if you have a sensitive scalp.

This is a fantastic clay for that textured, matte look that never seems to go out of style. The key to using any thick clay is the breakdown, you have to really warm it up in your hands until it's almost invisible before applying. This ensures you don't get any clumps and the product distributes evenly. It gives hair a great, gritty texture that feels and looks very natural.

What's the difference between this clay and a paste or putty?
Clay (like this product) is typically the driest of the styling products and provides the most texture, volume, and the mattest finish. It's excellent for creating piecey, structured looks. Pastes and putties are generally a bit creamier, can offer a range of holds, and often have a more natural or semi-matte finish compared to the true matte of a clay.

Is this product hard to wash out?
Because it's made from a simple base of oils and waxes rather than synthetic polymers, it can be a bit more resistant to water than a water-based paste. However, it is designed to be washed out effectively with a quality shampoo, and it won't cause the heavy, long-term buildup that some petroleum-based products can.

Will this clay dry out my hair?
No. Unlike some clays that are just clay and water, this formula is balanced with nourishing Coconut MCT oil. This ensures that while the bentonite clay is providing texture and absorbing excess oil, the MCT oil is conditioning your hair and scalp, preventing them from feeling dry.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
