An aftershave splash is typically a liquid, alcohol-based product that provides a bracing, antiseptic feel (the "sting"). An aftershave balm (like this product) is a creamy, lotion-like formula that is alcohol-free. Its primary purpose is to soothe, calm, and hydrate the skin, making it a much better choice for preventing dryness and irritation.


What does Milk Thistle do for the skin?
Milk Thistle is a plant whose extract is a powerful antioxidant. In skincare, it's known for its strong anti-inflammatory properties, which make it very effective at calming the skin and visibly reducing redness, a perfect benefit for a post-shave product.


Can I use this as my only moisturizer?
While it is very moisturizing, it's designed as a targeted treatment for after you shave. For the best all-day hydration and protection, it's a good practice to follow up with your regular daily moisturizer, especially one that contains SPF for the morning.
